Born in 1934, El Gebali graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo. He also studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Urbino, Italy, before gaining a scholarship for Art Research in Netherlands.

El Gebali is a master of Graphic Art. His achievement and sensitivity make him one of the most important Egyptian Lithographers. Calligraphic elements are reconstructed into shapes reminiscent of Egyptian Architecture, his distinctive and subtle colors characterized by their simplicity, highlight both the foreground and the background.

In the constellations of color and form, El Gebali succeeds in producing rhythmic arrangements, changing the internal movement of the elements into the main theme of his compositions.
